RHS boot trim above the battery

Hi,

Anyone have the clip in boot trim that goes above the battery?

It's the vertical one as opposed to the battery cover itself.

Is yours lost or just broken clips?

I fixed some broken clips on mine by screwing small dome-head screws into the stubs at the appropriate angle to provide the same effect - lasted several years now. :D

(I keep a usually-empty petrol can in that space, not sure why...)

Me Too... :)

Stealers wanted a large portion of my Frostie fund for this part and a 6 week wait for it to arrive from Germany..... go figure...

Do you want a picture (it's not particularly pretty, but it works)? :o

Here goes. The screws (3 here, just one clip left) are half-inch and actually recess-head not domed, but who cares!
I made a bit of a pilot hole for each of them with a heated metal awl.

That's a great idea, I think I might repair my spare (original) one that has a couple of broken lugs... :)

Hi guys,
I ytoo have this malady, (among many others), I was considering making some aluminium ones, ie, measuring mine up, modelling on solidworks, then getting a local fabricator to quote/ make some, probably in 3-4mm aluminium.
When I have some time that is, would anyone be interested were I to do so?
I won't be making any money from this, but I'm thinking we can all benefit if there's a small quantity...! Could possibly have A8/S8 logos machined into them if required!!!

I should stress that time is always my enemy, but it is my full intention to do this. I'll put CAD model pics up for assessment first, obviously..

Best regards,
Steve

I'd still see the clips as a likely weakness.
At the dimensions used it would be quite soft and bendable.
