Style statement or what?

It's about freezing, there's 6" of snow on the ground and the road hasn't been gritted so is still covered in snow/slush.

UPS van slithers to a halt, delivery over the road. Courier emerges in summer outfit - shorts and short-sleeved UPS shirt. Delivers package and departs, wheels spinning.
OK, he's a big guy and "well insulated" but.......

Shortly after that a Postie van arrives to deliver up the Close beside our house; parks on the corner as he thinks it's too steep and slippy to try to drive up.
Emerges from van wearing, yes you guessed it, shorts! :eek: :tuttut:

I must confess, I'm a shorts-all-year chap as well, but only in / near the house...

I confess to clearing the drive in shorts yesterday morning...

And no, I'm not "well insulated" at all...
