(Please dont ask where Im going with this, just consider it curiosity for now)

Since circa 2006, all D3's have the newer wide screen DIS. The question is - Is this is the same widescreen, ACC capable DIS as available from 2003, or have Audi managed to create a complex cocktail, including a special, widescreen, non-ACC version?

Could somebody with a post 2006 car, with widescreen DIS, but without ACC please put me out of my misery?

I've attached a piccy of an ACC enabled car (mine) - I'm desperately curious to know whether your cruise control is indicated with a red arrow around the speedo like mine, and/or whether you can see any signs of the adaptive cruise car logos in the speedo, ie bulbs that arent used on your
car?

Distance 2... You big girl :) I find even distance 1 leaves too big a gap which everyone jumps into, causing the ACC to go spare.

However.. I digress..

Different mate. Comes up on central screen not the outer ring like yours.

There's a cruise logo that appears in the speedo. Its an icon of a speedo in green. That's all. I don't have any of that exciting red stuff going on around the outside of the dial

Should there not be a capital 'A' in Adaptive cruise control, what's next, text speak? Bugs me. :mad:

Yeah, thats really annoying that..... It comes up like that in the MMI settings too.

I guess some german boffin in a white coat must have got the sack for that error.. :D

So, looks like ACC retrofit will be an ar5e of a job to do then.....

must be embarrassing having a red ring on yours when everyone else just has a green light in the middle of theirs. . . . ooh matron.. :p

I quite like my spiky red ring :)

It's more a cost issue if you don't have an ACC ready dash as you still need to do the CAN-bus wiring and the front end bits for the radar unit, from the audiforums.us threads, the dash is a straightforward swap and code (then CP removal)

Canbus and front end bits dont scare me - but you'll need to buy a brand new dash, or face a whole heap of pain trying to get your mileage corrected..... Not fun, or cheap....
