Do you mean it blows the fuse immediately or first time you try the CL?
Get it on the Computer and it should say which circuit is going to ground and blowing the fuse. |
^^^^^^^^^^^ what he says.
If it's blowing on CL activation then the CL pump is drawing to much load and may be on the way out or there is an earth on the switched side. If its blowing without CL activation then there is a short before the switch. |
its blowing the fuse as i put it in.i did some scratching around last night.removed the pump to see if it was causing the short, removed the alarm module.removed the tracker which came with the car as it was tied into whole lot of things and getting power from the central locking pump and connected to the boot light aswel.still havnt found the cause of the short.the wiring all looks good.is there anything in the door panels which has to do with the same circuit that could go?

Sounds like you have an earth on either a cable run or moisture in the system somewhere. I have a wiring diagram for the PF in PDF format. PM me an e-mail adddress and i'll send it over.

ok i got it fixed but its a really weird one im not too sure how it fixed the problem.the boot lock mechanisim is faulty so if i lock the doors u will hear the boot lock sucking air for while then stop.i think this caused the problem because i looked at the wiring diagrams on elsa and the fuse 1 in brown holder goes to the left door so i had a look around but i was a bit lazy to remove the door panel and it was late and i remember after locking the doors while driving it wasnt working when i got out the car.according to the diragram the central locking fuse goes to left door lock actuator and microswitch for the alarm and interior lights.now my left door microswitch is broken and only works if u manually move the switch.when i moved the switch heard the pump run and stop and when i replaced the switch all working.
so im thinking that the pump somehow got stuck and was drawing current and until i messed with the switch in door it didnt stop.maybe im wrong but its working. need to replace that boot lock and door lock. thanks for the help |
If you had mention the boot lock issue I would have got it in one!
Had the same happen to me. Stripped out boot mechanism and found a small leek in the bellows that operate the lock. The vacume leak was making the pump run over time. |
