OK so what driving practices make you mad?

Number 1 (of many)

It seems that the latest "thing" is to barge out onto a motorway with NO regard for the speed and density of the traffic in the lanes. The people who do that seem to get annoyed that YOU havent made way for them. IIRC the highway code requires those joining to match the speed of the traffic and slot in - not force you to brake/collide with the car who is overtaking you!

Does my head in too.. People joining motorways at 40.. grr

Middle laners!!! aargh!! even when you pass them either side with you and the car that was looking to pass you, they still don't move over.. And the number that come out the slip road directly into the middle lane!!

A couple of my pet hates are:

Those that occupy lanes other than lane 1 on a motorway when lane 1 is clear (the 50mph in lane 2 crowd)

those who indicate off, 1 or 2 turns too early on a roundabout

rear foglamps left on, especially in the dark and rain.

That's number 1 for me too but .....
Number2.......on a duel carraige way the car on the left doing 30 mph pulls out in front of you (still keeping at 30)when you are doing nsl because said car thinks you are going too fast!!!
Number 3......no indication/last min so you have to become a mind reader!!
Number 4......drivers that hog the outside lane on a motorway doing the same as number 2 if I want to exceed the nsl then that's up to me ....

in a long line of traffic on the motorway, some asses think its ok to undertake on the inside then cut back in to a small space causing the whole line to brake and the line tightens up so that there is no chance os a reasonable braking distance.

hang em

Two of my major annoyances too - especially those that turn their rear fogs on BECAUSE it's raining in the belief that's the right thing to do.....

People who drive at 40mph irrespective of whether it's a 30 or 60mph limit, then get annoyed/flash you if you overtake them when they're dawdling along completely obliviuous to surrounding traffic.

Being tail-gated driving through our housing estate (30mph limit but with sharp bends and big buses coming the other way) when you may want to be in a position to stop quickly if a bus appears round a blind bend taking up both sides of the road. Also tail-gating on approach to speed humps when you actually want to prevent damage to your own car when the person behind is happy to get some air time in their company car/shed

I could make this quite a long list, but then I'd come across as a grumpy old man, and I'm not quite old enough for that tag just yet!

my pet hates are

1 Failing to even realize that the manufactures did in fact install indicators !

2 will do 40mph everywhere flash like mad when you over take them and then they do 40mph in a 30 zone they just dont ever change speed !
3 When you are doing 100mph on the outside lane keeping up with all other fast movers and you get flashed to move over or go faster by a vauxhall nova or a fiesta

the list goes on to be honest

wrong laners on roundabouts that cut up up at the last minit because they nearly miss there exit ect

I get worse than that on a regular basis.
There's a country road (B-road, wide enough for 2 trucks but no footpaths) through woodland near me that used to be 60mph and has been reduced to 40. There's the occasional house but no real justification for 40. It then reduces to 30 entering the next village, though that coincides with footpaths and VERY wide verges.
A very high proportion of people drive through the woods (3 miles) at 30 to 35mph then actually speed up to about 45mph when the road "opens out" (it's the same width tarmac) at the 30 limit.
I can only assume they have bad eyesight. Drives me witless as there's only 1 decent overtaking opportunity on the whole 3 miles, if nothing is coming the other way.

I don't really do the stress stuff when out on the road. Once you get behind the wheel of a car, you need to accept that there are bad drivers, and simply deal with it. Life's too short to be stressing.

I've found that whenever I'm out in the Beemer, I'm tailgated a lot, and oddly enough, mostly by Audi drivers. Yesterday, I was chased, run-down, tailgated by a green Audi A8 pre-facelift, R**5JDU in Barking. Most of the time, it was so close the headlamps disappeared from view. All the way through the A406. Even when I moved over, he moved with me.

This morning, I was cut-up by a black Audi A7 3,0 TDI, FL60DUU on the A12. I pulled back, and let him go, only for him to slow down, and slam on the brakes every so often. I just kept my cool, and let him hare off into the distance, undertaking and weaving as he went.

Conversely, there seem to be less nutcases amongst drivers of the non-premium brands. More courteous, they tend to give way more often. Most Audi drivers, on the other hand are often rude, aggressive and arrogant, with TT drivers being the worst!

Still, it's all about self-control. If you let things get to you, you'll either get into fights, or raise your blood pressure considerably. :tuttut:

Motor bikes passing on the inside whilst I'm doing 70mph on the outside passing a line of slower traffic, then he gives me a look as though it was me who made him do the manoeuvre...Pillock

Then the moron sitting at 60mph slowly gaining on a truck on the inside lane and sees you coming up on the outside so decides he should come out before you get past him...and he still does feckin 60mpg...I wish I had a gun...
