I really want a C6 S6

I dont know why. I've been mulling it for weeks now.

I've never driven a C6. I've never driven the V10.

I have this urge to run out and buy one......

You'd think for the small cost difference, I'd be hunting down a nice D3 S8 with B&O but its just not floating my boat as much...

I've was truely thrilled with the nimble handing (relitively) on the smaller S4 i had last year, and maybe thats whats driving my thrist for a smaller chassis.

Anyway, if you see any nice ones (ie cheap, with a sunroof, sensible colour, full black leather, advance key and a saloon) - Do let me know... +++

Think they're properly rare in saloon form? Will keep eyes open - they do sound nice with a decent pipe on them :)

Mapped with an exhaust these only do 360 BHP, so stock they are 330ish. It doesn't really handle or do anything particularly well, read up on FSI Naturally aspirated carbon build up, if you still want one, because of the reasons above the C6 S6 is great value for money and I can see why you'd want one, and have thought about it myself but decided if I wanted a V10 I'd buy an M5 with a proper NA V10 that handles really well too, but I'll keep an eye out for a C6 for you. Hope you get it as I would love to have a ride in one. +++

330ish... eek, is that all?... is that loss from the Carbon build up.. I've known about it being a problem on the RS4's..... Didnt realise it affected the V10's too....

Too expensive to buy - Considered the B7 RS4 breifly, as they poorer examples are coming down towards 15K now - but the fuel range is pityful....

If it cant manage 250 miles on a tank, then its really not a lot of use to me...

According to wikipedia, it's 430hp and 540nm (320kW.. maybe where the error has crept in).

Apparently, the 3.0l tfsi has similar performance figures to the S6...

Yeah, I thought it was more like 430bhp - But wouldnt expect Amar to get it wrong, so assume its a real world figure ?

If I could justify 20K for a B8 S4 with the 3.0Tfsi I'd have one yesterday. Perfect balance of power and economy.....

The carbon build up only effects the naturally aspirated FSI engines. I'm aware the C6 *should* have 430 BHP but dyno figures on the C6 S6 are the 330 mark, I'd imagine the S8 is similair.

The B8 S4 is a monster, MRC are currently developing their one. It isn't even finished yet and at Inters it ran consistent 3.3-3.6 second to sixty runs, and did the 1/4 mile in 11.8/9. My car only did 4.3 and 12.77. The times the S4 is doing are better than a 750 BHP C6 RS6. They haven't even done any major engine work, just a map, pulley change and a full Milltek exhuast. Revo have been developing theirs too, but as you'd expect. It isn't a patch on the MRC offering.

Here is a video of the two going head to head, short clip, listen to the noise and farts on gear change.

11.8 1/4 mile and 3.3 to 60 is just stunningly quick. They are taking the car to the ring for testing tomorrow, expect it to be even quicker once they've honed the package fully.

I loses 100hp through the carbin buildup? Surely that's severe enough that we'd have seen some lawsuits.
