Strange sound from dash
 

I recently bought one more S8. There is a noice from left side of the dash, similar to a fan at high speed. Ignition on, noice starts.

Any ideas of what this might be?

If it's what I had in mine it's the auxiliary hot water pump. I disconnected mine.

The easy way to check is to press the "Rest" button on the ventilation system after turning the ignition off. If the noise reappears that's it.

The only real downside of disconnecting it is that the interior heating doesn't warm up quite as quickly as it used to in really cold weather.
(and the "Rest" function doesn't work, but who uses it?)
