RNS-E, Bluetooth, TV Tuner, Wiring
4 Attachment(s)
Surplus to requirements, so for sale as its not doing much good sat in my office gathering dust.
For those not in the know, the RNS-E is the later Sat nav unit that came out in 2005 to replace the RNS-D and has the following features: * Large Widescreen flip down display * 2 SD card slots for listening to MP3's * The ability to play audio off the Sat Nav drive in the unit * Full bluetooth telephone support * Much faster routing * European wide DVD mapping As D2 finished in 2002, and these didnt come out till 2005 there was never an official A8 D2 version, but the A4 and A6 ones fit with minor mods. This is an A4 one I believe, but fits nicely as seen in the photos. It also comes with the very expensive genuine Audi bluetooth adapter which gives full handfree function through the RNS-E. I'll also throw in the Analogue TV tuner as its no use to me. There is an extensive wiring loom, which has been hacked together from a RNS-E loom, TV loom and bluetooth loom by the looks of. It was working before I removed it, but if you were feeling perfectionist, a new loom from Kufatec wouldn't go a miss. It also comes (quite uniquely) with a colour-coded climate module. The D2 has a high gloss black finish, where the C5 was more matt, Someone has gone to the lengths of changing the finish on the climate module to match nicely. The buttons are still gloss, but it works well. Comes with code, and a map disc although no idea what year it is... I really dont have time to fit it - Sorry - so its for the DIY'ers out there really. The Sat Nav itself is a quick job, but the bluetooth, and especially the TV tuner in the boot is a seats out half a day job + Cash, and collection preferred, but paypal and delivery do-able at buyers expense. First £500 takes the lot.... +++ http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1342611140 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1342611140 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1342611140 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1342611140 |
Mmmmmm...

Do these have a video input, or do you have to go via the TV tuner like the RNS-Ds?
Do they do a digital tuner for the Es? Zip |
Exactly the same as the RNS-D afaik - Two inputs available, which I think this loom has already on it.
The beauty of going to the effort of wiring in the analogue tuner, is that the digital tuner is a straight swap. Also, the RNS-E support reversing camera through the inputs on the Tv tuner, auto switching when you go in reverse.... Thats a neat feature to have... +++ |
Do me a deal on the Bluetooth. :D

But you're fitting it ;) |
Whats the issue when it comes to fitting the bluetooth thingie?
Sooo want this...:) |
There isn't really, finding somewhere fr the module an be a pain. In a d2, the boot is best but big cabling job. Or there's above r in the glovebox.
Microphone etc is all fairly straightforward.... I just don't have time right now for any more projects, hence the cheap supply only price |
Do me a favour, can you measure the unit for me please?
And also measure the visual size of the usual bit. I miss Audi nav and tempted to get this in the Range Rover. |
