295/670-18 on D2 ? for racing !
I'm going to race with my S8-97 on some trackdays and i have found cheap Kumho slicks but they are 295 wide !!
Will that work ? And where can i find cheap 18" rims that are 10-11" wide? |
Don't know about the tyres but if you're fitting RS6 front brakes 18in wheels will not fit

Why not? The RS6 disc is only 365mm so it would fit under 18" rims. . |

Pre facelift S8 running RS6 brake calipers. I confess, I dont recall if the discs were the standard RS6 ones, or B7 RS4 ones... Or if the rears on this car wre B7 RS4... I know B7 came into the setup somewhere ;), and that sadly is the level of detail I have on these photos from a car that was dismantled 3 years ago......
The wheels are standard facelift 18" avus.... http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1344254315 http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...1&d=1344254315 |

Now to back peddle and try and recover a bit of cred (I'm praying this is right :D) You can fit up to 390mm front discs on the D2 and these will not fit under 18in rims. Ian, I bought the rear brakes from that car . I'll get the part numbers for our friend Rallyquattro the next time it's on a ramp. There is a thread about the brake upgrade for that car on Tyresmoke somewhere which details what has been fitted. |
