Very, very nice. Makes me miss my old Volvo, but maybe I could have my cake and eat it. Surely the fuel consumption can't be worse than an s8?

That is a lot of car for the money, very nice, not usually a light interior fan but that one seems to suit it, feel a business case presentation to the financial controller coming on;)

Didn't even know there ever was W8 Passat

I test drove an auto estate a few years back and the performance is deceptive. Not my favourite car but I did keep looking for one and still have an eBay search saved!

Missed out on an estate the same colour as this one, but black recaro interior and heated front and rear seats - was v low miles and a bit over budget but sold before I could get up to view it

It's noted somewhere that the gear change isn't right on that car so prepare to pay for the box to come out for a check

There's a few common issues with these that are similar to '8s - auto boxes can blow (or torque converter), engines can be problematic with sensors and timing

Electrics no more problematic than any other passat - convenience modules get wet, headlights a bit pants despite xenons

Specs can be light - lots of stuff was optional

gearbox sounds like the syncromesh on the way out, I had this problem with a 2002 Golf TDI, VW fitted a new gearbox under warranty.

Sounds like a new gearbox to me, or double de-clutching

Didn't hang around, provisionally sold (not to me tho'..)
