Fuses at rear of D2 S8 engine bay !
Does anyone know what all the fuses are at the rear of the engine bay, just beside the main ecu on a 2002 Audi S8 ?
The reason I ask is because my management light just came on and I think its because of the exhaust sensors and my lpg conversion (as that seems to be a common occurrence from what I've read on the forums). So was thinking if I pulled the main ecu fuse (not sure which one of these fuses it is though) for 15 mins or so and reconnect that would reset my light, instead of disconnecting the battery and losing my radio code as I cant seem to find it written down anywhere. Any help asap would be appreciated guys ! Thx ! |
If the fault is not present after 1 or 2 starts light will go out, fault code will be stored in ECU for 30-40 starts but light will go out after 1 or 2 so no need to pull fuses or disconnect battery. If the light is on fault is still there and will reappear again pulling fuse or disconnecting battery will not solve it.

Cheers buddy !
It was just an idea....... must go get a vagcom then and play...... Thx again ! |
My car is always throwing the check engine light, for catalytic converter efficiency and always has done since I bought it 1 year ago. I clear the fault and a few weeks will go by before it pops up again.
The low cat efficiency fault is triggered when the cats are below 94% efficient, and after I cleared the fault on mine on MOT day (to get rid of the CEL) the car was MOT'd and flew through the emissions test with no problem whatsoever, so even at less than 94% they are still way good enough for a UK MOT. VAG-COM or VCDS as its now known is invaluable on these cars, and means I can clear the cat fault as soon as it rears its head, and make sure its nothing else. |
