White 'Highway' strip lights in door panels
Morning all,
Long time lurker, first time poster so I hope somebody can give me some help with this small problem I've had for a while now. Under the 'background lighting' section on the MMI, there is a 'highway' setting (along with city, cockpit and rear) which switches on strip lights in all four door panels. My passenger's side door light has not been working for a while now but all 3 other doors are. Its just annoying more than anything as my eyes keep getting drawn to it and I wonder if it can be fixed easily. I quite like the ambient glow on a dark motorway run! Hope somebody can help! Many thanks  If I haven't explained it very well, here is where they are located... http://i45.tinypic.com/2r7606x.jpg |
Oh, I always wondered what that setting was, I will try it tonight.
Sorry I can't help more. |
Crikey, you're not missing much! I had to hold a white receipt there to see it.

same thing happened to mine, passenger side sto[ed working , by the time i decided to do something about it , it started working again so not much help to you. |
My rear passenger side recently stopped working, but not sure when I'll get round to looking. From memory whenI had a door panel off in my PF D3, they're a single LED that lights up the strip, so it's either gone or worked loose.

I read it's controlled by roof control module. It may be worth checking that for errors or running output tests, but it will probably not help, just say open/short circuit.

Same problem
Hi,
I also have the strip light out, and strangely enough also on the front passenger door. Did you ever get yours fixed! Thanks, |
mine also went on the passenger door for about 2 months, then started working again before i had time to look at it, strange so many are having the problem with the same door

Strip Light
Just n update, my strip light is being replaced by Audi under warranty. The extended warranty clearly states that it doesn't cover bulbs of any type. This makes me wonder if its a known issue as all seem to be the front passenger door that fails. However the technician (mechanic) did say they would be replacing the "unit". I will try and find out what the repair involves..
Thanks Mark |
