can some one help me with tyres.please

I have FE 20" wheels and they are getting very low now i have been let down by a tire place but i have phoned up a place about 70 miles away and the only size they have is 275-35-20

Will they fit my wheel i know 265-35-20 would fit but what about the extra bit ?

Stanfard tyres were 255-35-20

Any help would be great
Im not sure if my wheels are 8.5J or 9J i think they are 9J

Many thanks

They should fit without any problems but the speedo will read 2% faster than actual speed. They will also give a slightly softer feel to the ride being a taller sidewall. See attachment

You are a star ! Fair play thanks for that i dont mind a softer ride and the speedo will make sure i dont get a speeding ticket :) +++

Thanks again il get the 275s then

Should be able to check the wheel width just by taking the centre cap off

Camspec will do next day delivery if you've got somewhere local that will fit -
Saved me £150 for 4 tyres compared to local places

you can put 275's on the 9 inch D3 FE rims as I have them on mine but not on the 8.5 rims I think Guy. You're changing the diameter to 15mm bigger but the main thing is that you need the 9" rims to consider using 275's so check that

ok il check them now ...
are they under the center cap the size ?

ainarssems 16th November 2012 11:15 AM

I assume you are changing them all as you don't want different sizes.

If you do not mind second hands and drive to near Manchester Dm Tyres http://www.dmtyres.co.uk/ do good(6-7mm) 20" second hands for £50 piece including mounting and balancing.

Thanks for the help every one ...im still slightly confused..
My FE wheels are 8.5J but the chap who had the wheels before me had 275s on the 8.5 wheel but on paper the should not fit ? ...

Im going to ring that dtm tyres and ask if they have both sizes in stock and that way they can test it
I guess the only real way to find out is to fit them on and see of they do fit or not ...

Right on that screen shot where it said rim size ?...... its got 8.5---10.5
under 275-35-20

dose that mean that a 275 tyre will fit wheels from a 8.5 to a 10.5

so dose that mean my 8.5 FE wheels will fit a 275 35 20 ?

im not sure this is confusing me :(
