D2 winter car

Now I've got a company car on the way, I no longer need the Punto so I'm going to replace it with a D2, I've seen this one, could anyone comment on whether it seems like the fault the guy mentions could be the F125 switch?

The D2 is easily the most satisfying Audi I've ever owned and I'm keen to get back into one, using the fact I need a 'winter car' as an excuse, as I won't be taking the RS6 out in the snow.

As this will be a third car, it needs to be cheap - sub £1k, so I'm looking at a PF 4.2 quattro and it must be sport spec, I prefer an A8 4.2 over an S8 as I prefer the power delivery, and I'm after something to waft in as will still have the RS 6 to blast about in.

Let me know if you see anything, oh, and another thing. It MUST have a black interior, and I prefer silver as it doesn't show up the scratches as much on what will be an older car.

Personally, I think this one is a good bet:

Its looks incredibly tidy for its age... +++

Tough to price it up in the current climate, but I'd let you two battle that out amongst you ;)

Thanks, Ian. That sounds perfect, I missed that. It is exactly what I am looking for. I just hope he isn't offended too much by my offer, eek. Will PM him now. +++

Sorry, I should have mentioned I only wanted a 95/96 model as they qualify for the dirt cheap classic car insurance, have the RS2 style steering wheel and the better four speed box, but I'll still speak to Nottreal and see if we can strike something up...

Sorry mate, I should have mentioned it earlier, it's no longer on the market as I was looking to shift it on if I got IT's A8, but I missed out on it. Is it possible to remove the thread, I'm new to all this, perhaps a moderator can do it for me?

I like your interpretation of my username though, perhaps it explains why only Oli said hello when I introduced myself?

Good luck with your search

Norretal ;)

Thanks for the compliments and considering the possibilities Ian, much appreciated. I'll keep it for now, at least till another one as appealing as your A8 comes along. +++

Sorry for the typo - it's a lovely car, just post 'No longer for sale' on the thread.
