Anyone ever supercharged an S8?
 

After reading the Turbo thread somewhere on the massive expanse of the internet, i wondered whether it would be easier to Supercharge the Audi V8 beast.

Has it been tried before or has it been known to have done an engine swap for a RS4 or R8 lump?

I know Mike was in the process of doing it, but not sure how far he got... Sure there was a thread with the start of it on here somewhere.

There's a couple of off the shelf sc kits from the states. PES are available in the uk but cost is eye watering - think £10k territory for parts, fitting and remap to suit. I was put off because I really think the d2 needs a long 6th gear box to make much use of the extra shove in most conditions but if someone could DIY most of it I imagine it would be good fun!

The issue you have is that ideally you want to do a manual conversion before modifying the engine....you then have a way of controlling the extra bhp output....I just don't thing the automatic boxes are capable of handling much more significant power....

Auto boxes can be uprated to 1200NM+ by companies in the US, ain't no supercharged S8 going to put out that sort of power.
