battery draining power

hi guys wondering if you could help.

if i leave the cars for about 2 days my battery drains, and i dont know why :(

the battery is brand new and right for the car, i have coded the battery in using vcds.

checked connections to the battery eveyrthing seems fine.

nothing seems on when the car is locked.

could it be the battery control ecu/unit thats gone bad?

thanks in advanced :)

ok cool. thanks for that. ive had this problem for like 6months since the new battery went in. where exactly do i have to look in VCDS? battery regulator??

so can i just ring up audi and ask them to update the battery ecu? will they know what im talking about?

Leeds Audi will know, they just did mine

Check out the software on the battery Energy Manager or regulator on vcds

ie on the scan below the software version is after the H11 so is 0340

if your falls in to the category on the linked info, take it in and tell them the problem you have and you want the batt manager updated to 0590

ok thanks will check and let you know how i get on :)

which audi did you use? leeds audi?

i got my parts from there for the facelift, i dealt with a guy called lance, very helpful guy, unlike some of the other clowns there. but if you ever need parts always ask for lance he knows what he is doing.

limoncello 26th February 2013 01:14 PM

yes leeds audi

the last part i went for was the update disks for mmi

i waited for them to come in

when they rang me i drove down there to collect they had lost it, said they would order another and post it to me, never did

it seems my SW version is not inbetween the uodate versions. however i did notice the H02 instead of H11 like yours. does this matter aswell?

well when i first rang up, a guy said sorry i cant take the REG plate i can only input VIN numbers so i left it because with the facelift upgrade i used autotrader for s8 reg plates. so anyways went in the following day and lance was there, and he happily took the reg plates and inputted them into the system and i got what i wanted.

not sure what the H02 / H11 difference is, the tsb doesnt mention your very low software revision, it only states that 0240 didnt have an issue, but above did, it maybe worth a punt anyway, it shouldnt cost much and they can check whether your batterys still good and for any other drains at the same time.

you notice at the end it says how to check its Ok, if there is still an issue to track the part thats affecting it.

Also looks like Limoncello's is a C rev hardware, may make a difference to the problem too.

I'd guess the H02 is a hardware revision 02 which if there was 'original' then H01, then H02 would lead us to C :)
