Is that 4.2secs standard or after a remap?????

A remapped one could be even better

I watched this on tv the other night on fith gear..
4,2 sec 0-60 standard and 520bhp
You can remap them to 610bhp and a 0-60 of 3.5 secs partly its the 8speed gear box and sports diff ect the tec is outstanding in the new s8. But they are really fast and much more quiet than any other 8 ive driven... Untill you step on the fun peddal +++

An American review had it at 0-60 in 3.5 or 3.6 seconds to sixty, look it up on Youtube, it went up against a Alpina 7 Series and trashed it. The launch control and S Tronic box help, I'll have one if it handles like my RS 6 (which is pretty damn good for what it is). The Americans put it on a dyno and it made circa 580 at the crank, which asks the question. Do Audi map press cars?

Now theres a concept .... I wander if they do map them for test pilots ect like if top gear had one for the day ect....

One thing i do know is that the new turbo charged S8 has beel long awaited since the old 100 2.2 turbo
There will be a whole load of mods, maps, maybe turbo upgrades ..de cats ect ... I wander just how much you can squeeze out of it .. If the RS6 can be 730bhp with just a re map.. Makes you wander what the S8 will really be able to handel.. I think given the right tuning and relevent mods it will eat most super cars for break fast in a drag race .. That 8 speed s tronic box makes a world of difference too +++

Thoughts ?....

Why the link with the 100, Guy? That's an ex A6 iirc, and there's been loads of turbo'd '6's since. I wish Audi would make an RS 8, rather than crap like the Q3 RS, if they did I'd buy one without hesitation.

The crazy thing is, chuck a LS7 engine in a D2, with a 01E gearbox, and you will get a sub 4 second to 60 time too. LS7 505hp crate engine these days is £11.5k with all the bits, used 01E + all the bits another £2.5k, get someone to do the work lets say another 2k.
So for £16k + a S8 chassis from ebay you could have a monster that may beat the new S8. Also it will weigh around 300kg less!
