Streaming bluetooth to MMI via AMI

In all my company cars, I can stream music directly from the Spotify app on my IPhone 5 to the car stereo, naturally, I want to be able to do the same in the RS 6 (3G MMI). I have just ordered this A2DP adaptor to hook into the AMI, will this work (I guess I'll find out soon enough, as I wasn't patient enough to hold off ordering).

Anyone?

That one is the 30-pin connector which is for iphone 4s and older.. You'd need a new style one, though I thought the iPhone 5 had bluetooth audio built in...

Richard, I have an IPhone 4 too, and that hooks in to the AMI and you can play music fine. However, the issue is that I want to do it via Bluetooth, so, I'm hoping it works like this.

The 30 PIN AMI connector that usually goes into an IPhone 4 hooks into the A2DP adaptor thing, this will charge it and it should be able to take an audio feed from there too. I will then connect my IPhone 5 to the A2DP thingi via Bluetooth and I should have my Spotify through the AMI, does that make sense?

Ah... I read it the wrong way round.. that the A2DP thingy plugs into the phone not the speakers (should have looked at the pictures).

That should work, just depends if there's any 'apple shenanigans' going on that causes a compatibility issue.

No, the A2DP "thingy" connects to the audio system, in this case the iPhone socket on the AMI to the MMI 3G presumably.

My new interface "thingy" for the RNS-D (which loops into the CD changer wiring) also supports A2DP but I've found it "iffy" with my old iPhone. I think it's down to the phone though as others work fine.

Precisely, I'm getting rubbish at putting my thoughts to text, HP explained it perfectly. I'll find out if it works soon enough as it arrives on Monday, it will be a bargain and the best mod ever if it works.

You were quite clear Amar TBH, but I wouldn't bet my life on it working. :tuttut:
It will all depend what the AMI is looking for; if it's a real iPhone (or similar) it won't find it. An Apple Dock is a relatively dumb bit of kit just looking for a sound stream.
If it does work it will be one hell of a result. :D

If it doesn't, there this is always this... A lot more expensive though!
