Problems Setting up an RSAP adaptor - D3 2006

I recently purchased an RSAP adaptor from Germany to try and improve the signal quality and sound quality of my Blackberry 8900 in my 2006 S8 V10 (D3) which has the mounting for phone cradles under the armrest. As instructed, I deleted all bluetooth connections from the phone.

I have installed the adaptor, changed the language to English and searched for my phone which was successfully discovered. I can select the phone and get the 16 digit PIN which gets entered onto my phone OK. I tell the phone not to ask question again and accept the connection on the phone.

However, if I am reading the manual correctly, there should then be a an 8 digit SIM PIN which appears on the adaptor. This is not happening and I do not get the accept display.

The phone is recognised as a connection by the adaptor, but attempts to connect fail - bluetooth connection failed on RSAP adaptor.

Can anyone provide me with some guidance on what I am doing wrong please?

I have deleted the connection from the RSAP adaptor and my phone several times, I have turned ignition on and off, but all to no avail.

have you tried to -

a) Ensure that your particular Blackberry model is compatible with the rSAP adapter?

b) Set your profile on the phone to CAR rather than just Hands Free? There are 2 types of profile you can set normally and HFP (Hands free profile) is for where the phone connects to the car with Bluetooth but still uses the phones aerial sim and power, whereas CAR is for where the rSAP adapter takes over all the functions of the phone, replicates the sim properties, uses its own car roof aeriel and then powers the phone down to cut any radiation risk and save the phones power from being used.

c) Ask the Phone to connect to the car rather than the other way around?

RSAP adaptor now working

Hello Folks,

The RSAP adaptor is now working with my (company) blackberry 9320, after some trials and tribulations. I needed to turn off the corporate policy limitations to allow pairing back to phone. Now I will see if signal quality has improved down teh M4 every day, instead of dropping out every time I go past Swindon and Newbury!

Cheers
