Hi,

Where is the engine ecu located on the 4.2 tdi?

Cheers,

There are two of them :)

But not quite sure where they live.. is there not a box in the scuttle tray in front of the windscreen?

Looks like a pain to get to??

Can anyone confirm if if the ecu is an edc16?

Cheers,

Paul.

there seem to be many listed so would need to refer to your engine code then chassis number to determine which ecu

I suppose it depends on the year, early ones are EDC 16CP34, later ones might be EDC17

It's for a remap, yes. I need to make sure that the flash tool I'm buying is compatable with the ecu.

Why, appart from you can back up the entire ecu? Most places do it through the obd port.

Paul.
