D2 Glass Sunroof wind deflector

Opened the sunroof today, and found that the wind deflector had seemed to have come off its hooks on one side. In my attempt to put it back together, the other side has come off as well. So the wind deflector is now in the boot.

I guess this is a rare occurance, but has anyone got an idea about how to re-attach it to the sunroof. Nothing looks broken, I guess its just come loose.

Mine has done this in the past too - think just due to dirt buildup. A good clean seems to have helped anyway. Should be possible to clip it back into place and check its behaving with finger pressure. Mine would stay down then pop up and unclip itself

make sure the little rubber caps are still in place in the little lugs (see pic the bits just before the corners) that stick out each side, if one or both are missing then that could cause it to buckle and spring out

Thanks Brian and Adrian

I have got it attached back on the car this morning. Brian is correct, one of the little lugs is completely snapped off. The result of that is that the drivers side sits slightly higher since the lug is not present to hit against the sunroof opening. It goes up and down fine again, so at least its working, must have been like it since I got the car as it sometimes gets stuck down on the drivers side.

Mine is the same - missing driver's side. Luckily my spare has both still attached - thought they might just be a push fit but its definitely a snapped bit of plastic :?

seems a common problem I got one from A8 Parts, just make sure they include the little rubber stoppers+++

Whats a sunroof for? (its all right for the rest of you guys dan sarf thisank holiday, its still bloody winter up here).:(

Going to give my spare a good clean as it's pretty dusty and faded before I go to the trouble of fitting it. Much easier while it's off the car :)

No sign of the broken bit so I guess it went walkies years ago

Have now fitted the spare one - bit more of a fiddle to get in without 1 broken rubber bit! Hopefully that will stop any repeats
