D2 windscreen trim corrosion
 

It seems windscreen trim/surround gets corroded after about 3 years of use. I have changed mine in 2010 to new and it seems to start again.

Did anyone fix it, i.e. powder painted, anodised, etc?

Mine are black!

Both of mine are now black. We did start off with a chrome look on the '96 car but only on the front screen the back one was always black. But, the chrome trim looked plain ugly around it's first MOT time, it was badly corroded so I got Audi to change it over for a nice black one. They never did charge me for the new part:D

Mine is also black. I don't think it was available in other colour than back. The point of this post is not the colour, but the corrosion of windscreen surround. This is aluminium alloy part that borders with a-pillars and roof. It has two thin rubber seals on each side.
