Who's a lucky boy then?

Off to Silverstone on Friday, courtesy of Audi! +++
http://www.audi.co.uk/about-audi/aud...lverstone.html
Apparently there are normally 30 "punters" paying £500 each, but there will be just 15 of us on Friday hosted by Audi and presumably our "views" on Audi products will be requested in between the driving sessions. ;)

I don't understand why, but I won this via the AudiSRS forum, my entry being judged the best! :Confused:

What was it you entered (so to speak) to win and can we see the winning entry!

Enjoy the day! +++

Nothing very dramatic; they asked you to explain "Why I chose an Audi S/RS model" (in no more than 30 words):

The technology, style, comfort and performance of the Audi S8 when launched was astounding.
I bought my registration first, then my dream car. Eleven years still living the dream! (29 words) :love:

That is better than my entry lol

Great day out, and lots of different Audi clubs and forums represented, but not this one. No other 8 drivers there.

I made contact with the Audi "Digital Communications Manager" who "looks after" all these groups in various ways. Do we want to make formal contact or does our relationship with A8parts cause an issue?

I have to email her about a few things anyway so will probably mention this forum. If we want to take it further who would be a good contact for starters?

(I'm going to try and blag a prize for the meet next weekend) :D

You can give her mine and Mikes details if it helps, I already have some contact with the A8 Product Manager at Audi UK plus Audi Driver Magazine and the Group Sales Director at Sytner Group who own West London Audi amongst others. +++
sounds like it was a good day!

It was indeed; as I posted on the AudiSRS forum (where I won it):

Two major differences to other driving experiences I've been on:
1. No helmets required
2. Plenty of opportunities to absolutely cane the cars. They really did want you to thrash them to death.

An R8 V10 Plus at full throttle for several seconds really gets moving!
It also stops PDQ with ceramic brakes and the ESC working overtime.

I managed to "break" an Audi TT RS Plus, I think by overheating the DSG box. But then I did have "Big Dave" as my passenger at the time.

He got his own back by literally "taking me for a spin" in an RS5 Plus.

And I then started to suffer from carsickness as a passenger so gave up early on some of the sessions; Dave got a fair number of extra laps driving on his own without the extra ballast.
(Big Dave is the guy who runs AudiSRS, he's even larger than me :o )

That's us. +++
I'm grey baldy 6th from the right, hand on the roof. My partner Big Dave is far left.

And this is me trying (successfully) to do a very high-speed lane-change in an RS5+ without losing it.
