Echo Echo...

It's been quiet lately, not enough banter on here to distract me from my work!
So whats everyone been up to? An update from myself. I have been busy working on a now overdue accounting assignment, hope to have it finished by tonight! I also passed an assessment for a job that I want and have my second interview tomorrow! An update on the '8, well its had its detail moved to June and its also got its own stalker, a bloke in a high vis jacket came over to me when I was doing some work on the garden and started talking to me about the '8. He said 'they go like the clappers don't they?' We chatted for a bit and then he parked his Laguna estate outside my house for the next 7 hours staring right at the car, strange. Anyway, whats new with you and your 8s? +++

Work reviews at school and it's the last week of term so it is getting a little manic. I've been playing with tyre pressures front to rear and depending on mood can tailor to gentle understeer or very aggressive turn in with mild oversteer. Which is nice.
Lots of polishing to keep me outside the house, I need the distraction at the moment. My wedding anniversary today. We emailed each other. We live in the same house, car looks pretty nice though, Kiwi parade gloss is amusingly efficacious.

Hi Billbank, what were your findings with the tyre pressures then, do share! What have you set them at to give you understeer? Never heard of the Kiwi parade gloss, what colour paint are you using it on? I was just about to invest in some DoDo juice rainforest rub, anyone had any experience with this? I am going to apply it by hand!

Mmmm, I thought it was just me that was finding it a bit quiet :D

me, busy finding baby stuff for pending new arrival, doing the usual spring cleaning, trying to fight the ITIL processes at work and losing( or more accurately the lack of 'common sense' in some people). training non geeks in the use of Mambo so they can keep their website up to date instead of me doing it all for them.

I got my 8 back on Friday as per my other post so I've been enjoying just having a car of my own to drive. I don't think I've looked forward to coming to work so much in ages that I'd get a decent blast in it. Only another 75 mins and I can take it home as well!

Glad to hear you got your car back, I remember when my S8 was at Audi. The brand new 2.0T A6 loaner just didn't cut it like my eight year old '8 does! Speaking of baby stuff, my sisters expecting soon. Ordered her one of these http://merchandise.audi.co.uk/?page=shop&pid=363&cid=85 Sad I know, but shes very much into the quattro scene having just got a New RS 6 Avant. It says something cute like 'I know that when two feet loose traction..'(cant remember the test).

I've been busy on my girlfriends beetle for the past few weeks so the S8 has been pretty much untouched but that is all about to change. i finished the beetle, been to a show and picked up a trophy +++

so the summer wheels are ready to go back on i have a few ideas up my sleave so watch this space....

Hi guys, yes, its been a bit quiet everywhere at the mo... Wonder where the world went... lol

We're still working hard (of course) and as I said a bit harder at this time of year. I'm now trying to wind up my IT consultancy business, so thats another overhead to sort....

Bought myself a beautiful transit van a week or so ago.... A real looker, high spec, fast, a real head turner..... NOT :D

Anyway, for £30 one can't go wrong :-) - Its good for putting the mountain bikes in which is all I care about.

Its my sons 5th birthday today, and sadly he's not been feeling too cracking... about the last 3 to 4 weeks hes been suffering shortness of breath, and hes had inhalers and steriods and all the usual asthma stuff, but its not helping, and if anything getting worse, so it was quite sad this morning to see him not as mega excited as he would be normally... :-(

He's being referred to childrens ward at hosp now, so hopefully they'll figure it out....

That aside, all's peachy +++

James have you seen my old A8 about at any Edition 38 events? I know Harrys taking good care of her, still miss her though! :(

Ian - Hope your lad gets well soon +++

Conan_the_Librarian 30th March 2009 04:53 PM

Ian, Hoping all goes well with the lad.

As the librarian I have continued to draw solace and inner piece from the duodecimal system and the solitude of the librarians existence. For you the forum may be quiet, but for me it is a continuing beehive of exciting activity. I monitor the posts and threads and compare them using exciting mathematical equations for the demographics comparing a Monday morning between 9:32 an and 10:26 and the following Friday between 2:14pm and 4:27. The results are very important and if enough of you are intersted I will publish my findings in 10 volumes...............

Me? I continue to march the globe as a member of Her Majesty's Armed Forces battling tyranny and oppression wherever I and my fellow Titans find it. The enemy's of the Queen tremble at our approach! +++

As an example of the continuing unrelenting struggle we have on our hand(s) in ensuring you all sleepsafe abed tonight, today I wrote to the council to get some bollards installed to stop the pavement outside the gate from being broken up by vehicles mounting the kerb, causing trip hazards for the general public.

They have yet to reply but it shall not stop our never ending labours in the proper use of your taxes. +++
