One for the D2 electrical gurus

Hi folks

This is a bit of an odd request, but hoping someone on here will know the answer!

I'm in need of a relay for a purpose completely unrelated to my S8, but having a spare loom sitting here got me thinking about whether there might be one suitable sitting there waiting to be used!

All I need it to do is the basic function of a relay - take a signal on a low current circuit and give the full beans on the other side of the circuit. No timing required, no fancy choices on outputs etc.

I'm guessing there are potentially many I could use from the spare loom but it's knowing what they do and what they might be capable of.

The 12V battery I need to stop melting the switch and contacts its attached to is capable of supplying 260A continuous or 520A burst. Fortunately the motors and loom its attached to can't draw anything like that level

Any electrical pros able to offer some suggestions?!

For anyone reading this far that's interested, this is because I've just changed from using a 12v gell cell battery (same as found as a backup in most house alarms) to power the starter box for my 1/8th scale nitro buggies to a 4 cell lithium polymer battery which stores virtually the same amount of energy (7Ah for the gell cell and 5.2Ah for the li-po) but weighs about 1/10th of the weight, if that and takes up a quarter of the space!
