Fault code 17549.....

Hi all.

Found this code when fidling around with vcds the other day. Deleted it an checked again today an oh yes, its returned;) Car runs as normai without any issues other then startup when cold it revs up to apx 2000 rpm, slows down to apx 500 and back up to 2000 before is settles on 760rpm.

Google search ends up with:
-Air leak
-Maf gone bad.

Check the Live reading of maf and values are way low.

Where should i start checking for leaks? Any special vacuumlines that often fails?

Regarding new Maf Etka shows two different: 077 133 471H and 077 133 471HX
Seekpart24.com claims they both refer to Bosch no:0 986 280 213. Is this Correct?

Engine code AQH

Any thoughts would be very appreciated :)

Yes, this is correct. I just checked.

FYI: If VAG part number number has additional letter X in the end that means that part number was remanufactured by Audi. Nothing wrong with that BTW.

Can't help with fire and smoke logic between your error and MAF. Have you changed these hoses? They all need to be changed if car is more than 8 years old. http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articl...sereplace.html

'X' at the end means they require your old unit in exchange, it's excactly the same part only difference is that price is higher if you do not exchange your old part.

Well then..

Changed all the vacuum lines today and took her for a spinn. No fault as of yet.

Under Engine->Mess.blocks-> Group 3, the figures have changed

Old Vacuum:

760 rpm: 4 G/S. ----- 2.2% Load ----- Timing. apx. 12
5000 rpm. 40-50 G/S. ----- 60%. Load ----- Timing: forgot :)

New Vacuum Lines

760 rpm. 6-8 G/S ----- 2.7% Load ---- Timing: 10-15
5000 rpm: 180-285 G/S. ---- 97%.Load ---- Timing : Hard to read

According to Just Ben in this post under G/S should be much higher on idle

Any suggestions ?

:)

Just thank God he has gone. :tuttut:
Here is the correct data from the horses mouth (ElsaWin)

Your new values look fine at idle, if a bit high. I have seen around 8g/s at idle recently too.

285g/s looks good too at 5000rpm. Plug in VAGCom and select log values and go for a little run, make sure you hit the red line at least once, then plot a graph in excel.

I found a old graph from my previous MAF which was working ok (as far as I know). Rpm/100 for easy comparison.

Good evening guys:)

The same code is back again but all the numbers is the same as after the vacum lines was changed.

Could it be false air or MAF?

startin to annoy me a bit this little bugger.

thanks :)
