Bluetooth and iPod for RNS-d

I was looking around ebay seeing what random bits there was for the RNS-d and came across this Audi iPod Adapter RNS-C RNS-D Interface Box 000051444L | eBay (One of yours i think?)

I currently got the Xcarlink in my car and it works really well but I'm wondering if a OEM ipod adaptor would display any extra information on the radio or DIS?

The Xcarlink also have the option of plugging in a Bluetooth hands free add on which I'm very tempted by but I would like a bit more information on the screen or DIS.
I've even thought about a parrot kit but I'm not a fan of having the external display on the dash. Can anyone recommend a unit that integrates well with the RNS/car?

I am tempted to just OEM the iPod and Phone if they come up at the right price.

First, if that unit is for RNS-C and RNS-D it will display little if anything due to limitations of the RNS. The best it can do (like XcarLink) is a track number.
(and presumably there's some cabling too - not illustrated)

Second, I've got Bluetooth on my XcarLink and it works well both for music and phone. Usual limitations on phone reception if the handset is inside the car with no external aerial, but for "occasional/emergency" use (which is all I really need) it's easier than a fully-fitted car kit.
I ran the microphone lead up to near the sunroof switches; it's not the best but "adequate".
My main phone is an older Nokia (not a smartphone) and pairs fine. I have (for work use, not when driving the S8) an iPhone and out of interest tried that, it was quite iffy about pairing up properly, but I also have WiFi problems (losing networks) with it so maybe it's on the way out.....

I do like the Xcarlink but would prefer seeing something in the dis if possible.

I'm on the look out for MFSW as well. :)

A friend of mine has decided to break his A6 with MFSW and letting me have all the cables, plugs I need to fit MFSW.
I also picked up a Tiptronic steering wheel today.
Going to attempt fitting the MFSW bits from a 4 spoke wheel in to the 3 spoke to make a 3 spoke MFSW.

This should be fun.

That'd be interesting - I'd love one of those in mine too, looks wise prefer the 3 spoke sports wheel but fancy the mfsw controls +++

I hope its possible but I found a couple of threads where people have tried it and they ended up making their own buttons cause they can't get the control unit to fit in the 3 spoke.

Steering wheel, slip ring and some other bits should be turning up next week.
I need to find this part number 4B0907487F

It looks like this and needs to have Canbus on it. There are others that says Radio, or Nokia but this one needs to say canbus.

I've seen the ones in the states.
Not keen on ordering overseas.
Paranoid of it getting lost or broken in transit.
I'll drop A8parts a message.

It does come up as an A8 part - I had a look on my spare loom which came from a really high spec car, but relay locations 3 and 4 have already been relieved of their relays - according to Etka that should be where they live depending on application
