HELP! S8 Calipers needed

I've just been quoted £600 +VAT each for front calipers for my S8.

Does anyone know if I can get a better deal that that? And quick!

Thanks

Our sponsors presumably can do better, give them a call. What's the problem?

Can the existing calipers not be pulled and refurbished? Granted you're without the car but may be cheaper option to run around in something less grand while they get sorted?

Not much on calipers that can't be repaired or replaced if you have the kit and knowledge

Andy at A4 Audi had left it until the last minute, despite my car having been in for the better part of 2 weeks, so I made my displeasure known. So I'm getting them 'at cost' to him.

It's no wonder that parts are so expensive: the manufacturer makes a profit; the motor factor makes a profit; and the garage makes a profit! :(

I'll try to get the old calipers back for a refurb job.

I had similar with a Citroen specialist I used to use - would drop the car to them on a Friday to be picked up the following Friday and they would NEVER touch it before the Friday morning, despite needing to check out some issues, potentially order parts etc, do big jobs. Eventually stopped using them as I found somewhere more reliable closer to home.

If it helps at all my only slightly out of date copy of Etka suggests they retail at £473+VAT (£567) so I hope they're a good bit cheaper than that if he wants to retain your good will ;)

Might be worth a call to local TPS to see what they would charge?

why not take this opportunity to upgrade to RS4 front calipers?

I work for Citroen UK, think I get bits at cost + 10% if you ever need them, Adrian.

Cheers Amar, unfortunately most of what I want is no longer made by Citroen/available, or at least the UK dealers claim it's NLA anyway.....bit like Audi in that their parts supply for older models is a bit pants (ours dates from '88)

Can't even buy a pair of front fogs for a BX 16V :-(

I'm a parts advisor for a large Scottish motor factors.
Currently on the case, it's no gonna be an easy one tho.
I suspect a recon/return job is going to be the best idea.

Il keep going tomorrow & see if I come up with any super Ideas.
