"S" OEM Aluminium Mirrors compatablity
 

Hi guys,

I'm just wondering whether the "S" Aluminium Mirrors are compatible with different models? I have the opportunity to buy a set of OEM 2000 S3 8L (preface lift) for a good price and wanted to know if this will fit my 1998 Audi A8. I know that inpro Chrome caps are the same from the S3, S4, S6 & S8 (but u need to know if your mirrors are symmetrical or unsymmetrical)

not sure but if even if the caps are the same it doesn't mean the whole mirror assembly and mounting to the door will fit as the angle of the a pillar may well be different, you'd have to compare using etka part numbers to see if they are exactly the same. the Asymmetric mirrors are usually for other countries than the UK such as america and some other european countries, but I've always thought they look a bit odd!
