Long Journey made easy
Just arrived back after a journey from Helensburgh to Retford (east of Sheffield) and return on the same day. Total 616miles .The weather down the M6 and across the M62 was appalling but the car is so sure footed at (reasonable) speed in the rain. +++ Came back up the A1 and A66 in the dry. What a car to do such a journey in - quiet, great seats, power when you need it, great brakes, and can cruise at 90 no probs so home earlier that expected.
You cannnot do a journey like that in an Aygo! |
This is what I found as well. I have done many long journeys in the car, and never had any bad aches or cramps. D2 is an amazing car for long journeys. Some cars are called Grand Tourers, a D2 truly is one.
To compare I have been to Barcelona in my previous Volvo S40, and whilst the Volvo seats seem very comfortable for short journeys, they do cause some aches/pains on long journeys, plus the car itself was a bit wallowy, and harsher ride. |
Couldn't agree more on your comments, the D2 is an exceptional car for long or longish journeys. We have several trips a year to Blantyre and Monifieth and always take mine despite my wife's A4 being much more economical. I get out after driving a few hours with no aches and pains, I've never driven another car for such longs periods that can do that.
On another note, it was our eighth anniversary yesterday so I gave her a celebratory wash ;) |
