Gearbox tunnel carpet trim

Hi all,I seem to be having issues with my s8 Gearbox tunnel carpet trim on the passenger side as it's keeps dropping slightly,in the past the tv headunit has been out and fitted with a Denison iPod adapter before I bought the car but not fitted in back in properly, bottom corners of the screen doesn't sit flush like the top.it doesn't rattle or get in the way but it bugs the **** out of me knowing it's slightly dropped and from the dashboard to the lower carpet. I think I will have to remove the passenger seat out and maybe the glove box,to give me the flexibility and hopefully just clip holding it all in to the centre dash and console, any help be most great full...

You don't need to remove the seat or the glove box!

Move the seat back (and up, IIRC) as far as it will go and, with a little patience, that will give you just enough room the remove the carpet panel.

But before you do that, is the little retaining screw in place? It should be about in the middle of the carpet, perhaps slightly hidden by the carpet pile. If this isn't in place (and it can be difficult to relocate) then that may be why the panel has dropped.

But if you do remove the panel, do the orange aircon drains whist you're there!

Ok will try it I know it's tight and hardly no flex in the carpet as found out when I carbon wrapped all the wood inside.

Passenger side is easier than drivers. ;)
Take the floor mats and carpet out too, IIRC there's a screw fitting at the bottom (and/or top bracket?) as well as the one in the centre of the panel, the hole for which may not be that obvious.

Look at this, admittedly for LHD so slightly different: http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articl...tordrains.html

I found it easier to take the orange evaporator drain(s) out completely and wash thoroughly in a bowl.

ok thanks guys i will try that, gonna pull the head unit out and remove the dension ipod connector and old parrtet handsfree which does'nt work well at all, gods know how long its been in there lol, wanna get it back to normal and cd changer working again, until i decide to upgrade to a aftermarket double din, while i'l do that i can sort that carpert out and clip the centre console in properly and the side passenger carpet up again.
