Help With D3 Niggles.

I've just picked up my 2005 Audi A8 4.2. Really pleased with her, just a few niggles. In the interest of not opening multiple threads, I'll post the faults here.

1) I have only one key, Audi are quoting me £208 inc. VAT. This covers the key itself, as well as programming. Could I buy the correct blank key off eBay? My dealership said they will programme my own purchased key.

2) My rear centre armrest (the one with the first aid kit) seems to be stuck. I can't pull it down, it just comes forward away from the recess, but no further. I don't want to pull too hard in case there's something I'm missing, and I bust something. Any pointers?

3) The power doors only works on the nearside front and offside rear. Are there motors that fail, causing non-operation?

1 - Probably the going rate, but I think you can code any other key in, so potentially even one from A8parts.

2 - Sounds like it might be broken already

3 - Yup.. power door close is done my motors, but could also be microswitches to set them off.

Thanks for that, PsYcHe. I suspected as much with the power door closers. I guess a strip-down is in order, I only hope it's as easy getting the door cards off as with the D2.

I'll attack the rear armrest tomorrow.

The car came with the Audi phone (cordless) The battery may be past its best, as it doesn't respond. Is there a Bluetooth option to pair more modern devices?

And of course the analogue tuner won't work. I'm going to run a freeview digibox, but not sure if the AV inputs are accessible, or need adapters. I've still got my D2 Kufatec harness, I need to pull out the D3's tuner to see what inputs it has. Any pointers there?

2005, you may have the unit that is normal bluetooth with the crap audi system... But there's a good chance it's the old motorola unit.

It's a 30 minute job to swap for the newer unit.. I did a write up somewhere

I'm not sure. The phone itself is Motorola though, if that helps.

Sounds like it's the crappy system then.. is there a SIM card slot under the handset? If so, you need to change it for the generic bluetooth system.
