S8 cluster needles
Just wanted to see what is the standard colour if in fact there is one. I bought and fitted an S8 instrument cluster after seeing one at A8 Parts that had blue needles. When I fitted mine I was surprised to see they are brilliant white, which I actually preferred so it isn't a problem.
I was just wondering if the colour was changed over the years or if there was an option at any time with the D2 S8? What colour do others have? A trivial thing but I'm intrigued as young Dave at A8 Parts seemed surprised that mine were white and not blue? |
As afr as I know all are white on D2 unless somebody DIY changed the LED's in the cluster.

I think Nighttrain's were blue in his pf S8 +++

Thanks Neil, I know blue was normal because I've seen them but was that maybe a PF S8 standard then the white needles became standard in the FL? As I said it's just a trivial bit of detail but I'm interested to know when things changed.

Definitely not standard, min are white and so are all the others I have seen, I have never seen blue that being said I have not specifically looked for needle color on every 8 I have seen. And if You look historically all Audi dashboards have been red/white combination, never seen blue that was not a modification. I have seen blue modification on A6 and it looked s#@t but everybody to his own.

I always liked the blue dash in my Passats when I had them....

How can I change my cluster needles to illuminate red instead of white? I really hate that the numbers illuminate red and the needles white :tuttut:
