I'm lost!
1 Attachment(s)
Got into my other car (Focus) today and the SatNav knows where I am but can't explain to me as I'm "off map".
It can tell me that I'm 5423 miles from the nearest road (map covers UK and major roads of Europe) This figure updates consistently as I travel so it definitely thinks I'm "somewhere". I haven't been far enough yet to try and triangulate where it thinks I am, or even if it's on the Earths surface! |
Can you place a "flag" in the current position and then interrogate it for positon info?

Sadly no, it's an old system. I can't even see how many satellites it's found.
But today it's working again so I'm assuming the aerial is a bit "iffy" - ordered a spare one (less than a tenner) which has just arrived, so next time I'll swap it - if it ever happens again. I've seen many odd messages from GPS systems, but never one that put me over 5,000 miles away! |
