Toyo Proxes T1 Sport

Hi
Anyone having them on at the minute or had fitted in the past??

I'm buying a new set of tyres next week and almost every time I change the tyres I go for something different, but not budget of course.

I'm always keen on changes and not always I take all the reviews seriously, especially reviews after driving 3miles or from users of much smaller cars because then this info is less relevant to me or to you, some tyre might be fine for 1.4 hatch but not so much for almost 2 ton A8

This year I'm keen on Toyo's because:
one, apparently from this or last year Toyo Proxes's are Audi's OEM equipment (A0 version on Audi S6 and Audi RS 5)
two, the build of the tyre is quiet interesting especially wider profile which will suite me even better with 255s on 9'' rim.
three, dual compound, harder on the inside for better steering and softer compound on the outside for better cornering.
four, wide water channels like most of the better competitors.
five, well priced
six, not so bad reputation.

Video here, firs 2min or so absolute b@l@ks, then the construction is explained in detail (dual compound etc)

Cheers

Just a quick update on this set of Toyo's.

There is a obvious reason why they are OEM equipment on S6s and RS5s.
A8 is a bigger and heavier car, but the tyres are really really good.

The dual compound works as it should, offers really good cornering grip.

Done 40-45mph on roundabouts (dynamic mode lower by -15mm and -10mm) with no oversteer or understeer, no loss of grip.

Done 120mph breaking to 30mph just before entering roundabout with very little spare room, great grip.

Done a lot of wet running including 50-60mph drive through flooded roads, no aquaplaning, 3 very wide grooves do the job very well.

My mate, before blowing his gearbox, done 5 hard laps on the track and after that there was seriously no sign at all of any wear.

£800 fitted - very good buy, I would recommend them to anyone

I'll keep that in mind as mine are down to 3-4mm, still haven't found wheels to replace the 20"ers so i can refurb them and replace my tpms sensors.

I could lend you 4x 18'' 5spoke Audi wheels with still legal, I think, Dunlops.

This is the place where I always buy my tyres from.

They ARE ALWAYS the cheapest guys online.
They always beat prices of my local tyres shop, always !!!

Now they are 153 each, so £612 + fitting !!!!!!!!

Kind offer but 19" is the smallest wheel that will fit over ceramics.

Understood ;)

Someone is looking to swap 19'' for 18'' so you never know, you might be in luck if that happens :)
Will let you know if yes and then you make the call...
