cheap Brembo discs EuroCarParts

Just ordered a pair of 345mm brembo front discs for only £86.
Euro Car Parts has a 30% discount on at the moment.
Add to this £46 brembo pads from ebay, running a S8 seems very cheap?

I spoke too soon.
apparently Brembo discs are on a long back order with their supplier, so they cancelled my order.
Not sure if I want Pagid disks. Probably not.

I found another seller, a bit more pricey but still not bad. £106.

How much do you guys usually pay for discs from TPS or other cheap sources?

Pagid discs

I put some pagid rear discs and pads on last week. very cheap £22 each for the discs and £15 for the pads and they look well made and have a coating on them to stop them rusting (it's a bit early to tell yet but they seem very good!) and for that price I put both on, even though really it only needed pads, I hate rusty discs

Thanks Dave,

I just checked the Pagid 345mm discs on Eurocarparts, they are more expensive than the Brembos!
£107 each (before discount).
I guess I'll go with the ebay Brembos this time.

Goran
Just checked the my receipt and I only paid £22.50 each plus vat for my pagid rear discs lasts week from ecp and today they are £31.14 so it seems there prices go up and down quite a bit. I'm sure pagid are original on many cars. I think I first heard of them about 15-20 years ago as OE on porsche and vw. I thought you would be into ceramic discs or AP racing curved vanes on custom alloy bells with titainium fixing bolts haha!
Cheers Dave

From what I have heard ECP has bought Pagid trademark and are selling different brake parts from different manufacturers under it. Some are OK others not so much.

I wouldn't go for Pagid if I could afford better stuff. If situation is different then obviously comment below doesn't matter.
Why would you put cheap as chips discs on a car like A8, unless you going for a quick sale with good impression.

I wouldn't go below Brembo, EVER !
Heavy car, front discs....cheap sounds no good, and 100quid for a pair of Brembo seems like a good deal anyway.

Did you tried GFS ?? (give them a call instead of going on the website which wont give you all the options and info)

How about getting drilled vented Zimmermann's Sport Z from Germany, I've got them and tested them even on a track day at Snetterton, found nothing so far after over a year and I'm not pushing cars through the bends or roundabouts, I leave breaking to the last miliseconds when you would think is almost to late ;)

I should have tried GSF and TPS, but went ahead and ordered the ebay ones, £106 is not bad.
Dave, carbon discs are definitely on my wish list :)
They are so expensive though, I can only dream about them for now.

M-A8 8th December 2013 10:51 AM

Why not trying German drilled Zimmermann's with anti-rust coat, something in the middle ??
I did and I'm very pleased
