Failed MOT on.....
.....offside headlight washer!!!
Ok, CV boot as well, but I knew that needed doing. But...headlight washer? wtf? News to me. Just needs a pin sticking in the holes I think, maybe a loose hose. Very annoying. Anyway - check'em when you're in next.... Zip |
Since last year, if you have xenons and headlight washers then they must work otherwise its a fail.

Mine failed for the same. Both sides not working. Came as a surprise to me, especially as it cost an absolute fortune to sort out.
They had it in for hours to troubleshoot the electrics. Turned out to be a badly protected wire which burnt out in the loom somewhere in the offside wheel arch. Hope yours is an easier fix! |
Sorry to hear that. Hope its easy to sort out.

All sorted. Blocked nozzles....:p
Advisories on both front anti roll bar linkage bushes, but no real play yet. They've both hardened quite a lot - noticed that doing the calipers last year. Are they replaceable without the arms?? Comment on handbrake efficiency...I'll have a good clean up when I do the rear discs and pads. Suspect the mechanism on the near side caliper is getting sticky again. Anyone found a good way of keeping them clean, 'cos I haven't? Zip |
What would happen if you were to cover them with duct tape, so they couldnt see them?
Kinda like taking your spare out if its bald, if its not there it can't fail? |
Mine sometimes have a mind of their own - often I think it's temperature related and they refuse to work in case they're frozen up, but there's not a great deal you can fiddle with on them? You don't hear the motor trying to run so it may be electrical if it is a fault (on mine knowing yours is now sorted)
