Done right, it's a good thing.

I've done my remap with JFA and it wasn't just a straight upload, but it wasn't either a remap on a rolling road. But I'm happy, it took around 1-1,5h I think, process was simple, writing a file took most of the time.

I would trust him again no doubt, and I will actually give him a bell later on to find out more about it and the cost of course as well...

Would anyone be actually interested so I could maybe arrange with John some group/forum discount ??

Got reply from John couple of days ago, but just been to busy.

Basically he confirmed the statements from the website.
Also like with the remap, he will email the original file just in case for the future...whatever. I kept my original file (engine remap) on the hard rive (emailed to me by John afterwards)

The key benefits for your gearbox are the speed shift times reduced making for quick gear changes. The other main factor for having the gearbox software altered is to give more mid range torque gain. This is achieved by moving the software torque limiters unlocking more engine power! The tune is 100% safe as is just software limitations again.

The engine map won’t need to be touched.

Wasn't aware of any A8/S8 with a DSG box... they're all full Autos arent they?

More likely my mistake, but mentioned remap is available for D3's ;)
