Rotor replacement

4 Attachment(s)
As i was cleaning the wheels last weekend i noticed the rear disc rotors were very badly worn so having got some new rotors and pads i went ahead with the replacement this weekend. Using Paul Waterloo's excellent procedure on audipages it was generally a doddle. The nearside took a while as the bolts holding the calipers and the next two holding the carrier were sods. Also despite having bought the piston compression tool (£10) it took a lot of strength and time to retract the piston. The offside was a breeze though. All bolts came out easy and the pistion retracted sweetly so the nearside job was done in just over an hour as opposed to 2 hrs for the first.
As can be seen the inside of the rotors were in a poor state - even worse than the outer (visible) side.

These look positively fresh compared to the ones my brother took off his Pajero last weekend. Even his pads were worn down to the metal.

I guess it came from reading the Paul Waterloo "how to" guide!

He's just back from 2 months in Oz. Perhaps that explains it? ;)
