Broken Coolant Pipe

I was trying to remove the EGR valve to clear a error and ended up breaking this little plastic T pipe.

I've had a look on ETKA but been unable to find it.

Anyone able to find the part number for it?

SH11111T !!!

Feel for you mate, have when stuff like that happens. Little plastic bit and you can't run the car without it.

There is like 10 categories in ETKA, did you checked only engine section?? there is cooling section as well if I remember well or something like that.

If no one will do it I will dig through ETKA later on for you ;)

Also with stuff like that, you can just take both broken parts to Audi and they will more likely sell you replacement just like that without a hassle

I've gone through A8, A8Q, all engine types and all sections looking for that pipe but no luck.

I think the T piece and the plastic pipe coming off is one unit.

Another pair of eyes would be good.
Thanks.

Can you unclip pipes on all 3 ends of the t shape plastic connector??
If yes then you will be able to get just the connector, but sometimes manufacturers use dirty tricks and don't sell them separately, only as a part of the hose even if it's a separate part.

Will look into it later mate +++

It looks like the Plastic smaller pipe is joined to the T piece in factory.

OK, it makes more sense now why you couldn't find the connector on it's own, looks like its a part of the plastic pipe so you will have to look for a pipe with a connector at the end possibly??

If no luck will look at it later if no luck on your end.
What year is it?? 4.2tdi yeah??

I can't find anything on this pipe or connector.

3.0TDI V6.

Any idea what it does, i.e. what do the 3 directions connect to and what does the pipe carry and at what pressure relative to atmospheric, e.g. coolant, vacuum, recirculated vapour of some sort, etc.

Depending on the answer it might be "repairable" at least on a temporary basis, or even bypassed/sealed.

ScottD3 5th May 2014 03:03 PM

No idea what it does but coolant came out.

I'll trace the pipe better tomorrow.

HPsauce 5th May 2014 03:15 PM

OK, so it's probably under reasonable pressure from within and temperatures around 100C.
That rules out a fair few repair methods. :(
