I bought a AA solar charge from ebay.
It plugs into the car via the ODB port.

I cycle to work now and if I'm not doing anything on the weekends it could be 2 weeks or more without using it and its never gone flat since.

Many guys had this fitted and as far as I know they are very happy. Best on the market I've heard.
This model suits all A8s as it's compatible with batteries up to 110Ah (the biggest battery on 8)
I am planning to fit one one day, but so far I haven't.
I walk to work, but I use car every day, if no reason to drive then I just take the car for a drive just for pleasure.
I just love driving the 8 :D

Wot he said - I use a CTEK charger to condition and top up the battery, you can also install a comfort panel with traffic light LED's to show the condition off the battery at a glance (red orange green indicators) and then just plug into that rather than having to remove all the gubbins out to get to the battery. +++

Yesterday unusually I've had all evening for my self from 6pm.
Soon after the dinner I was just tempted to go for a drive.
But I told my self, Marcin, take it easy one evening from time to time and just do nothing. So I did, watched some Discover Channel then decided to finally see Rush so I rented it and enjoyed every minute of it.
Finished watching it about 11pm so I said to my self, Marcin, go one day in a while sleep early, it will do you good.
So I did. I was switching sides, huffing, puffing, gasping, could not fall a sleep, so did the usual-put my track bottoms, t-shirt, trainers and went for a 40min drive.
Came back home, undressed, fell asleep like a baby all happy :D

For some it's weird, for me it's not

Haha excellent mate +++ whatever works for you!
Rush is a great film - I hope that you have already watched Ronin, and also Driver with Ryan O'Neal which is a great older car chase film :D

It works, I do the night runs very often and taking her for a spin at least once a day is a must, if I don't that's what happens :D or I'm just looking for excuse to go for a ride :D

Anyway, both movies are just classics, I can watch them God knows how many times +++
