Engine Trim Alternatives

Did a quick clean on my engine covers yesterday.
Scrubbed them with Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner. Rinse and dry. then used 3 products which came out like this........ http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/attachmen...5&d=1243244441 On the left is Poorboy's Natural Look Dressing available here In the centre is Poorboy's Trim Restorer available hereOn the right is AutoGlym's Instant Tyre Dressing The PB NLD is a cleaner and leaves a matt natural look. Applied with a small paint brush and buffed off with an MF cloth. The PB TR leaves a satin sheen which I quite like. Applied with a small sponge to get in all the nooks and crannies and allowed to dry naturally, or lightly buffed with a cloth. The AG ITD is sprayed on then I used a paint brush for even cover. Allowed to dry naturally it comes up with with a good sheen. It can be buffed dry with a cloth for lower levels of shine. This stuff is good on engine plastics if your in a rush. Using a fine spray nozzle just spray everything under the bonnet and it will dry to a streak free finish. Leaves a slightly oily feel. My Choice it PB's TR lightly buffed with a cloth. HTH |
I used the AutoGlym Vinyl & Plastic stuff on my engine bay components, gives a really good shine.
Also used the Machine Cleaner to get all the muck off first. |
