Dension Gateway 500 vs AMI
 

I believe I have a Dension Gateway 500 fitted to the car at the moment.

It has the USB connect, the iPod connection and RCA connection.
It plays MP3s off the USB fine and the iPod dock/holder is great for holding my glasses case.

Over all it seems fine but the OEM side of me keeps pushing me towards the AMI install as it looks better in the dash, the menus song names look better and ultimately its OEM.

I'm debating going AMI but I'm not sure what I'd gain or lose.

Has anyone used both of these and able to offer a comparison or want to swap? +++

Scott, are you able to control your current Dension with the steering wheel buttons and view files / music info on the dash LCD? If yes, then I don't think AMI can offer much more. Maybe the Dension can play more file formats than an AMI unit?

I change tracks via the steering wheel.

The AMI wouldn't get you that much more, and a £300 hole in your wallet, plus the potential hassle of taking the dension out.
