fitting a 3.5 jack connector to RNS -d

2001 FL A8 D2

need some help please.
got a connecter that fits in the cd 'slot' of RNS.
(i am sacrificing my cd player facility to play tracks from the phone)
the connector has a 12v blue wire that needs to be connected/spliced in.
any guidance (if possible with pics/links) on which wire i can hook the connector up to in the vicinity of the RNS unit.
thanks raj

Do you mean you're looking for a 12 volt supply?

These are the connections on the back of the unit: http://i.imgur.com/aqIrS9B.jpg

From memory, I think 'SAFE' is permanent 12 volts and UB+ is ignition-switched ... perhaps someone else could verify.

If I understand correctly what you're attempting to do though, I would highly recommend using and XCarLink unit instead, which will give you a 3.5mm jack input, a USB charging socket and a bluetooth connection to the RNS-D, all without sacrificing the CD connection.

thanks for the reply moltuae.
using the link provided i have spliced it into the SAFE wire.
i have an android( samsung note3) so there are more expensive systems out there then the £10 connector i bought and it works a treat.
odd, but i disconnected the 'round' 13 pin plug thinking i would loose the cd but the connecter seems to be that of the analogue TV. cd works fine.
thanks again
