For those of you thinking about winter tyres

Saw these on offer. Perfect fit for a D2 on 20's and what looked like a fair price too.

Also very good but there is no better winter than the Nokian. Its all I'll sell.

Whilst i dont have many comparison experiences I can vouch for Nokians keeping you on the straight and narrow. Coming over Beattock out of Scotland just before xmas there was an inch of slushy snow on the A/M74 and after trying the brakes and steering (cautiously) i was happy to proceed at about 45-50mph. However, there were a number of other cars facing the wrong way on each carriageway or otherwise having difficulty.
Also there isnt much increase in road noise over the summer tyres (Kumho Ecsta).

I don't think it's worth shelling out this much for new winter tyres: c.£150 vs c.£600 is a bit of a no-brainer really. My Michelin PA4s are part worns with 6-7mil all round, and as new really: they're quiet, have saved me a couple of times, and the wear on them is very good too, so I can see them lasting me all through next winter, as well as this one.

DM Tyres ( http://dmtyres.co.uk ) - who I have no personal interest in - have been unfailingly excellent, and I recommend them (as I and others already have on here..) to anyone.
