What a waste that they were left to rust away like that.

At least now they're likely to get saved and restored, though some look a little beyond restoring.

On the auctioneers web site, one of them says "These sleeping Beauties are clothed in the precious patina of time gone by."

Is that what you and I call "rust"?

Must remember that one for future ads when I'm selling a car! :)

Aye, except for the 1970's classic, the Mk III Cortina. I suppose "1930's to 1970's" doesn't have quite the same exclusivity about it ;)

Patina seems to be the in thing according to all these Discovery Channel car programs. On one show they even added some fake patina on a restoration! :ROFL:

very appropriate post, yesterday I was watching James May's cars of the people which featured 2CVs hidden in sheds during WW2 and are still being found.
