Wanted: D3 N/S Rear Brake Caliper

Long shot, but anybody got one of these lying around?

Unfortunately, A8 parts can only sell me one with the electric motor attached (which I don't really need) and I can't really afford what they're asking at the moment with it being just after Christmas.

whats wrong with it ?

If it's corroded/seized you may be OK with the new seal and dust boot from the dealer (or online if you can be assured it's the correct part)
I did one of mine and cleaned it up with synthetic steel wool first.

All I know is it's leaking brake fluid... the existing caliper may be repairable, the garage I took the car to haven't taken the caliper off to investigate be honest, just quoted me for putting a replacement caliper on.

I should have a go myself really but I'm not the best at this sort of thing and its absolutely freezing at the moment!

I have the nearside rear without the electric motor. If you still need one, please let me know.

I've sourced the part now thanks to Nollywood.

I've spoken to a couple of garages and they're unsure about how easy it will be to transfer the electric motor from the faulty caliper to the replacement caliper. For this reason, I'm struggling to get a price from them.

I'm only assuming its possible to transfer the electric motor and relatively straight forward, for somebody who knows what they're doing.

Has anybody done this before? and/or know if it would be relatively straight forward to do or not?

EPB motor is an easy swap, 2 bolts and a multi-connector.You'll need VCDS or similar to unset and reset the caliper and do the adaptation, also remember to set the brake pad thickness when setting it all up on the VCDS. You need to have the battery charged fully and possibly connected to a charger or a second battery linked in as voltage is critical for the module

There's a thread here which may help

VCDS youtube clip here showing the procedure

Good information, many thanks for that. I really appreciate it.
