Replacement Service Book
My car was in for a service before Christmas and I was looking through the folder today and the service schedule wasn't put back in. I phoned the dealer there and they are going to check in the morning, but I'm not hopeful.
Worst case scenario, can they issue a new book and get it stamped again? Sadly the 4 previous stamps were from 2 different dealers in Wales. |
You can get a 'duplicate book' which is a very generic, and obviously non original item, but Main dealers will happily stamp it if you post it to them....
I'd push hard to get the original located, as the build sticker etc in the front cant be replaced to my knowledge. I personaly never like to see duplicate service books, always suspect something dodgy with the car when I see one... |
I'm exactly the same, if I saw a duplicate book it would probably put me off the car to be honest, no matter how genuine.
In my case I have a scan of the original one, and the Audi dealers will be able to confirm the stamps and even confirm that they have lost it, so hopefully that is enough for a potential buyer. At the same time there are some folk that probably wouldn't even notice it's a duplicate! |
