Keyless entry exit and start module change

My Keyless has stopped working and on Vag Com it states Module Faulty ..
Now I have a new one, however it will need component protection removing but I have also read somewhere on the web that it may cause the car not to start as it talks to the Immobiliser on the car for Start Authorisation.

Has anyone changed this module ?
Basically my Whole system stopped working I now have to unlock the car with the fob and then manually put the key in the car to start it , and also the fingerprint scanner now states user not recognised and the DIS displays No key identified ? when i attempt to start using the button.

Anyone had this issue before ?

Oh I used Measuring blocks in VCDS and all door handles and lock buttons are reading perfect as is the Start button and stop button on both stages 1 and 2
and all antennas seem to be reading 11000 as far as im aware that is with in Tolerance:Confused:

Check your fuses and power at the left luggage compartment, when I was doing reverse camera retrofit I shorted out the fuse panel in the left luggage compartment, the one where the nav drive is. That created the same kind of issues that you talk about. I had to unlock the car with the buttons and start with key in slot.

I don't know what module powered from that location created the problem but I know once I replaced the blown fuse it started working again.

I think Richard has this issue with one of his early D3's and it turned into a right can of worms, Was all done under warranty I think but it put me off messing with keyless for life. Doable I'm sure, but its gonna be a ballache no doubt.... :(

Well it was not a Fuse ... checked everything and its still the same it wont even alow me to scan my finger as a new user it just said Trannsmition Error when i press the finger scanner to regester a User ? :(

My PF D3 had a nightmare with the keyless when I got it, but it was water ingress, causing problems with the keyless and the MMI system.

Might be worth checking under the carpets.
