The Joy of Head.... lampreplacement
Who now recalls the days with fondness, when changing a headlamp bulb was merely a fiddly b4stard of a job
|
Welcome to the joys of A8 motoring:Confused:
I also bear the bruses:D |
Ha.
Is it an awkward job? On the A2 it was easiest to remove the headlight from the car to change bulbs. Was only two or three bolts. |
It's beyond me why it would not be a user serviceable job.
You should be able to lift the bonnet and either have direct access to change bulbs or the headlight should be easily removeable by the owner at the side of the road. I used to carry all manner of spare bulbs, belts, water, oil etc in cars because they were all doable at the side of the road, not these days though. |

I'd rather have the bruised knuckles.... :D |
There's no engine or anything much sitting above the headlamps. The bulbs could sit in a cassette that drops in from above.

Had to take some folk to Oxford and bring them back home today.
After a four and a half hour drive home I was greeted with an irate SWMBO saying "That B*tch of a car out there". After the rant was over I understood that another dipped bulb had gone south. I went out and it was a sidelamp bulb. I'll sort it tomorrow. Bit easier than a headlamp bulb, well a little bit. |
